Programmed turf care, seasonal color, and white-glove detailing that keep a significant landscape investment looking its best all year.
A meticulously designed property can slip in a single unattended season. Southern Cut's maintenance division exists to protect the investment — holding your grounds to the same standard the day we built them and every year after. This is estate care as a discipline, not a mow-and-go route.
Because the crews maintaining your property understand how it was designed and built, nothing gets treated generically. Turf is cut at the right height for its species and season, beds are pruned with intent, and the whole property is watched by one accountable team that knows the difference between tidy and truly cared-for. The result is a landscape that looks intentional in every month of the Carolina year.

Every property is different, so every program is scoped to it. These three tiers are a starting framework — we tailor the calendar to your grounds, turf type, and standard.

White-glove care with a dedicated lead for the property.

Fescue lawns in the shaded neighborhoods of Davidson want fall aeration and overseeding; open bermuda lawns near the water in Mooresville peak in high summer. Getting the timing right is the whole game, and our programs are built around the Piedmont's specific seasons rather than a generic national schedule.
Maintenance also protects everything else we build. A well-kept lawn keeps beds, hardscape edges, and plantings looking deliberate, and pairing your care program with smart irrigation means one team keeps the entire property watered, fed, and detailed on a single, coordinated plan.
For the cool-season fescue lawns common across Charlotte and Lake Norman, early to mid fall is the ideal window to core-aerate and overseed — the soil is still warm, nights are cooling, and new seedlings establish before winter. Aeration relieves the compaction that our heavy clay soil is prone to, letting water, air, and nutrients reach the roots. Warm-season lawns like bermuda and zoysia are handled on a different, late-spring schedule.
We offer three tiers. Essential covers programmed mowing, edging, blowing, and bed upkeep to keep a property tidy and healthy. Signature adds a full fertilization and weed-control program, aeration and overseeding, seasonal mulch, and pruning for lawns kept at a higher standard. Estate is white-glove: everything in Signature plus seasonal color rotations, detailed hand-pruning, leaf and storm cleanups, and a dedicated account lead for the property. Each program is scoped to your grounds rather than sold as a fixed package.
Yes. Cool-season fescue and warm-season grasses like bermuda and zoysia have opposite growth cycles and need different mowing heights, fertilization timing, and overseeding strategies. We identify your turf type and build the calendar around it — because treating a zoysia lawn on a fescue schedule, or the reverse, is one of the most common reasons a lawn underperforms in this region.
Spring cleanups reset the property after winter — cutting back perennials, refreshing bed edges and mulch, and clearing debris so everything leafs out clean. Fall cleanups manage the heavy Piedmont leaf drop and prepare beds, turf, and irrigation for dormancy. On Estate programs these are handled continuously as part of ongoing detailing rather than as one-time visits.
Yes. Seasonal color is one of the fastest ways to keep an estate looking intentional year-round. We design and rotate annual displays for spring, summer, and fall, plus cool-season plantings for winter interest — in beds, at entries, and in containers — coordinated with the permanent planting so the property always reads as cared-for.
The mark of great maintenance is consistency — a property that looks its best not once a season, but every time you pull into the drive. That is the standard our estate clients count on.
